Annual production: capacity: 1,100,000 tonnes of salt per year (financial year 2009: 978,000 t)

Daily production: approximately 3350 tonnes max Annual turnover in € (financial year 2009): 93 million.

Current investments: Up until Autumn 2007, Österreichischen Salinen AG was producing around 800,000 tonnes of vacuum salt per year in Ebensee. After the production capacity had been boosted through investments of around €100 million (including a fourth evaporator, a third storeroom, a warehouse for finished goods and numerous auxiliary components), since November 2007 annual output has reached 1.1 million tonnes and the storage volume 300,000 tonnes. Although less noticeable, the switch from heating oil to natural gas was financially and ecologically important. The use of natural gas means that almost no sulphur dioxide and significantly less nitrogen gases are emitted.

In the previous years we had high investments to increase our production capacity. Additionally we invested in the extension of our packaging machines like Big Bag-machine, machine for cans, machine for round tablets, 1kg-packaging-machine, palletizer and tubular bag machine (5-50 kg) etc. in the expired fiscal year.
